    Title : The Umbrella

    Medium : Oil on Canvas

Description: If you have lived in a tropical country, the umbrella is one of the most undervalued item which most of us overlook and under appreciate in our lifestyles. If anything,it is the tool to hold immense roles—shelter you from our absent but torrential rains, makeshift fortress against the angry heat as well as a reliable weapon against eave-teasers,because,it is still a problem these days.My personal favourite use of umbrella, especially off late is that it commands and implements social distancing at the click of the button. This painting is a reminiscent of my short refuge under a bus stop because I was that person who forgot my umbrella on a rainy day. Against the nagging windy blues of the rains, I was envious of the kaleidoscopic canopies sheltering the lucky ones to go about their days. Unlike me, these lucky ones need not have to cancel engagements due to bad weather, or be stupidly late for a meeting soaked from head to toe. That day when I got home, I picked the most colourful umbrella from my mom’s collection and hoped that when there was a need for it, mine would stand out in the crowds of umbrellas for an onlooker like me, that day.

I wish I had a quirky story symbolising an umbrella with relationships like that famous song but honestly, there is no better demonstration of an automatic social distancing unfolding with a simple swift of the umbrella despite rain or shine.

    Title : Ellicott City

Medium : Ink & Pen on Paper

Description: A clear example of a small city in the American suburbs, Ellicott City releases all its charm in a single image that contains the essence of these small urban centers... A single main street where small artisan shops and art galleries follow one another with the inevitable landscape of electric poles and wires that create a spider's web in the landscape. Luxurious cars and SUV vehicles frame the view in the contemporary world that otherwise would not be so evident. The American suburbs are vibrant.

    Title : Allegory Of Time

    Medium : Oil on Canvas

Description : In the oil painting, a rabbit printed in delicate Chinese ceramic motifs shines with blue and white tones. This meticulously decorated rabbit symbolizes the endless search for the white rabbit in "Alice in Wonderland." The detailed ornamentation evokes the complexity of imagination and the mystery of Alice's dream world, inviting the viewer to enter a labyrinth of dreams and realities. Thus, the rabbit becomes a visual allegory of insatiable curiosity and the desire to explore the unknown, always chasing time.

  • Eleonor Andersson

    Title : Twisted

    Medium : Oil

Description : Twisted is an 18x32-inch oil portrait exploring the subconscious by visualizing the psyche imposed on the anatomical form. The painting depicts a contorted figure holding its head toward the viewer, with bandages falling away to reveal a mutated face sprouting extra features. Using ultramarine blue to portray the physical body through a surreal lens, the artist aims to create psychological realism, symbolizing the subject's inner world. The contorted, mutated figure with multiple eyes invites viewers to consider how our mental landscapes might appear if manifested physically. The painting challenges the boundaries of normalcy and monstrosity, investigating concealed elements that germinate, leech, and burst from within. By depicting the psychological self bursting forth and imposing itself on the anatomical form, the painting prompts reflection on the complexities of our internal landscape.

Title : Swaad - the taste

    Medium : Oil

Description : From the Pitara Indian still life series: In this painting I focus on the spices that are native to India and truly define our culinary heritage and culture - black pepper, turmeric, curry leaves and red chilies. Black pepper - the king of spices was prized like gold in the ancient world and responsible for attracting a thriving spice trade and invading explorers to India. Turmeric, known in medieval Europe as Indian saffron is today prized for its medicinal and health benefits. Curry Leaves - are again native to India and while valued mostly for its distinctive aroma, are also of medicinal value. Dried Red Chilis - more than 18 varieties of chilis flavor Indian food with their pungency - from the hottest bhut jolakia to the deepest red of the kashmiri chili. Hand pounded in a brass pestle and mortar is the traditional way to evoke India in your cooking.

Title : Within the Swirls and Circles

    Medium : Painting

Description : The painting Within the Swirls and Circles depicts the seashore and its surroundings. I see this painting as a visual diary where subtle moments are collaged and transformed on the canvas. The movements of waves and the interplay of light and shadow are expressed through lines and the act of drawing, which evokes the rhythm of the sea. Instead of focusing on detailed forms, I choose to emphasise the absence and empty spaces, creating a sense of tranquillity and reminiscences.

  • Joanna Pilarczyk

    Title : Alton

Medium : Oil on Acrylic on Canvas

Description : In Alton, Joanna Pilarczyk captures a moment of introspection in a young man of Jamaican and Dominican heritage, embodying the strength and gentleness that shape his character. Alton, who lives in North London, exudes a quiet resilience and patience that reflect his personal nature and his dedication to others; he works compassionately with young people on the autism spectrum, bringing warmth, intelligence, and kindness to their daily lives. Alton appears lost in thought in the painting, and his gaze turns inward as if contemplating memories or aspirations. His mind often drifts to Jamaica, a place of deep family roots and cherished memories, yet also of complexities and challenges. Pilarczyk's portrayal brings out this tension, using her bold neon acrylics and oils to convey both the vibrancy of Alton's personality and the layers of nostalgia and longing for his heritage. The background pulses with clashing colours, echoing the lively energy of London's multicultural essence that Alton is a part of, yet it also contrasts with his reflective pose, evoking the sense of inner quiet he brings to those around him. Through Alton, Pilarczyk invites viewers to pause and appreciate the depth and richness of her model's story —a young man who balances a life of service and compassion with personal dreams of connection and belonging.

Title : The Spiritual Journey of Calligraphy

    Medium : Oil on Canvas

Description : According to calligraphy masters, Nastaliq script is one of the most beautiful, delicate, and challenging Persian scripts, and it can be said that it is the bride of Persian scripts.

Looking at the calligraphy page is enjoyable, even if the viewer does not know Persian. This script is the second special script of Iranians and has an 800-year history.

Historians believe that the most beautiful script in the world is Nastaliq." Nastaliq script, like the sculptures of Michelangelo and the paintings of Raphael, has a systematic composition.

In this portrait painting of my late teacher, Ahmad Ali Taiefeh, a member of the Calligraphers Association and the author of the book "Methnawi Gulshan-e Raz,"

He is currently calligraphing a poem by Hafez, a famous Iranian poet. My teacher passed away in 2021 due to COVID-19.
